City Compatibility: How AV ride-sharing could address mobility gaps

The MERGE Greenwich consortium developed two complementary reports about how and AV ride-sharing service could be City Compatible: This report focuses on the city and mobility needs perspective.

It outlines the mobility gaps experienced in cities, using the Royal Borough of Greenwich as a test case, and discusses how an AV ride-sharing service could address these gaps. Implementing such a rapid, cheap and flexible service which offers targeted solutions to address mobility issues can bring a number of benefits to the city and to its residents. In order to realise these benefits, the MERGE Greenwich consortium set out a list of requirements which an AV ride-sharing service should be designed to meet.
